Kloc and Peavey-Derr Win G-BAD Race

If campaign promises mean anything, it looks like the Boise Visitor and Convention Bureau won’t be getting any public tax money from the Greater Boise Auditorium District (G-BAD) in the near future. Hy Kloc and Judy Peavey-Derr were top vote getters for the two seats up for grabs.

Kloc had previously told the GUARDIAN, “My position has been clear from day one…I will not break the law! IF we do work with them it could be on a commission basis only on what business they bring into the center.” However the BOISE WEEKLY said, “Kloc, who was endorsed by Boise Mayor Dave Bieter, said he would prefer that the funding resume sooner than later.”

Peavey-Derr said throughout the campaign that she was reluctant to quickly resume funding to the Boise Convention and Visitors Bureau, which saw its financial support cut off by the GBAD board in a deeply divided vote last summer.

So, is this a win for the growthophobes?

It was hard to tell from the news coverage what the issues were and who was for or against what. The waters were sufficiently muddy to keep me from voting.

  2. “reluctant to quickly resume funding” is JPD speak for “vote for me and then I will do as I damn well please. You stupid little people!”

  3. Nothing like have a professional (?) politician like Judy Peavey-Derr. Seems she can’t stay in one office so she runs for all of them..Lots of luck

Peavey-Derr and Kloc are exactly the right board members to serve on this board in a legal and positive manner. The insanity of the Visitor and Convention Bureau’s Exec Patterson’s plan to put her hand picked puppets on the board of a government entity has failed.

  5. I agree with Cyclops. JPD is a Trojan Horse in my opinion. She will do whatever is in her best interest first, stupid little people second. Typical for Idaho politicians and the moron petri dish this state resembles.

No, Hy Kloc and Judy Peavey-Derr will never vote to resume funding for the CVB. Those statements are created by the media. Neither will break the law to fund, nor use legal methods to fund such a corrupt organization. Don’t expect Patterson to go away, she is a master at being a victim, which is typical of someone who’s been fed at the government trough for so long. Keep watch, in the next few weeks she will create another adversarial situation. And of course, it will be the fault of the GBAD Board.

  8. Naw, I figure the morons are the equivelent to zombies so I’m in for the fight. Too bad I remember when it was a really beautiful state.

Time Travelor, you are beyond correct. Patterson’s behavior is predictable and pathetic.

  10. You nailed it TimeTravelor. Bobbi is the puppetmaster to GBAD Board members Mike Fitzgerald and Gail May. Fitzgerald already said in the Statesman that at the next board meeting he is on a suicide mission by calling for a vote to fund the CVB. He obviously has no conscience about breaking the law. Also, the law is clear that any board member that attempts to break a law with a personal agenda is acting outside board jurisdiction, therefore is personally liable for any lawsuits and is not covered by board insurance and is no longer acting as a board member. Only someone drinking the koolaid would be stupid enough to do that.
