ACHD Joins Boise In Gardner Fee Defferal

One thing Boise and Ada County Highway District officials seem to be able to agree upon is special treatment for the Gardner Development Company.

Boise fees of about $500,000, and ACHD impact fees of between $1.2 million and $1.4 million are due before Gardner is allowed to occupy its a two-building, office/retail/parking/convention project, atop an underground public transportation hub, on U.S. Bank Plaza between Capitol Boulevard and Grove, Main and 8th streets.

While COO Tommy Ahlquist said the company’s request for fee deferrals has nothing to do with financial difficulty, we find it odd he has sought special treatment on this project as well as the Zion Bank building.

It will be hard for both Boise and ACHD to justify impact fees for other builders without offering the same sweetheart deals.

  1. I guess I don’t find it odd that they would try to defer large expenditures even if they are in good financial shape. I do find it odd that the ACHD would agree.

  2. We simply need to throw these people out more often and significantly tighten up their job descriptions to prevent the fraudulent redistribution of wealth and resources. Considering that the bozo in chief is actively damaging the country in every way he can, we can hardly expect his loyal followers to behave any better.

If they don’t have that much cash on hand which I admit is a considerable amount. To get a construction loan from the bank they would have to show a balance sheet, tax returns etc. Maybe they don’t want to do that. Surprising that nothing is being asked in return such as interest or Ahlquist’s first born child
