Wow, I think they have running water and electricity in parts of Bogota.

I don’t mind hearing about other parts of the world, but I ask that you not tell any Colombians about Boise or they’ll move here.

Any Colombian will tell you that the demand for drugs is created here in this country, so why don’t we Americans solve that problem so they can get their country back from the drug lords. Anyone in Peru or Bolivia will say the same thing, and they are correct.
The Harrison Ford movie “Clear and Present Danger” has more truth than fiction in it regarding our inept bungling. The “War on Drugs” is a poorly conceived, poorly executed fiasco.

The expressions that you see on their faces are normal for Bogota. In general the people are more reserved than in other parts of Colombia due to the cool climate (Bogota is at about 8500 feet) and large population (about 8 million).

I would imagine that any photo of New Yorkers exiting a subway station would show similar expressions.
