The only one that made out like a bandit on this purchace is the poeple of boise. they got rid of a dog and made the sportsmen of idaho buy it. Now they can walk there dogs, gripe and not pay a dime. This was a bad purchase. Could haveraised a lot of fish and fed a lot of deer and elk. Killed a lot of wolves for 4.3 MILLION dollars. Bad buy commisioners!

Hi ericn, lots in Meridian have things like paved streets, curbs, gutters, sidewalks, access to city water sewer along with electrical power and natural gas access on the lot.

The point here is what is this raw land really worth and what was the appraised value.

Paul, $5,815/acre is a steal for prime property like that. Flat land building lots in Meridian are going for $32k for a fifth of an acre. The purchase of this land by the city and the resell to IDFG wasn’t pretty but it turned out to be a fantastic deal for all parties involved.

The math on this makes it come out to $5,815/acre. This is a great deal for the seller.

Willing buyers and willing sellers establish the value in this case.

Good to see the city officially selling this property. I have no doubt the IDFG plan will be better than what Boise City had envisioned for Hammer Flat.

It is interesting that the city purchased 701 acres, but is selling 705 acres. Where did the 4 acres come from? Was additional land purchased or was there additional land found on the title?
