I think the meltdown at Ice world is note worthy. I have been told by “persons in the know” that things are different now and the new parks and rec manager will keep things honest. My prediction for the new year is that you will see part 2 of this saga. Don’t believe me Mr. Editor and readers? Look who they are bring in as the new asst hockey director…the more things change, the more they stay the same.

My favorite story would be the congressional elections. $200BN spent and nothing changed. Every Repub was sure Mr. Obama would be voted out of office and they would also take over the US Senate. Once again, it was an election determined by INDEPENDENTS and those not convinced by FOX News, Rash and Hannity and the SUPER PACS.

The general topic of Energy to me is the story of the year. Public has been made aware of the huge subsidies involved thru the 1601 progtam, PTC subsidy which we will pay for many years and cheap Natural gas. Without the promise of these subsidys, Dynamis would not have existed, Idaho Power would have lower rates and the general public would be better served. Idaho Public Utilty Commission has in general recognized what they can do on the State level and issued appropriate rulings. The Dept. of Commerce will have to come up with more innovative ideas to save HOKU from the scrap heap.
