It is interesting that given the changes that have already taken place, and the now large public interest that people still think it will stay the same. If you are that pessimistic why waste your words whining about it?

I have solved this political dilemma in a very direct way: I don’t vote. On Election Day, I stay home. I firmly believe that if you vote you have absolutely no right to complain. Now, some people will twist that around. They say, “If you don’t vote, you have no right to complain,” but where’s the logic in that? If you vote and you elect dishonest, incompetent politicians and they are now in that office and screw everything up (and they will), you are responsible for what they have done. You voted them in. You caused the problem. You now have no right to complain. I, on the other hand, who did not vote – who did not even leave the house on Election Day – am no way responsible for what these politicians have done and have every right to complain about the mess you created. Especially with the Dynamis deal. I mean really no one committed a crime.

Like other commenters, the hiring of a new PR flak on Day One does not fill me with confidence that fiscal responsibility is a priority. (Or transparency, for that matter… in most cases, the PR staff at various gummint agencies acts like one more level of bureaucracy to separate the high-and-mighty from us commoners.)

Time will tell, I guess. (Maybe Maneely can use some of those awesome sportscasting skills to at least make the meeting minutes seem exciting…)

At least two of the commissioners got together and made the pick behind closed doors. So much for transparency.

More like, “We know what we want to do and how to get around the red tape to get to it done.”
