I find it amusing that everyone is ready to throw in the towel on Case because he refers someone for a job. If Logan was instructed to hire the best candidate then how much more honest could it get or should he not refer anyone?

Wondering, how does being a parole commissioner make one quailfied to be an Ada County Commissioner? I do not know this guy ( the new garbage guru)and I assume you do not either so our guesses are just supposition. I will guarentee Case will be better in the commissioners office than what he replaced. BTW I dont know Case either but I did know Ullman..

How does working for the Parole Commission for many years make one even remotely qualified to lead projects at the landfill? Sounds like the garbage that needs to be cleaned up is really in the Ada County Commissioners’ office.

I am not saying this is not a problem what I am saying is in the big picture this is a very small problem. I had a whole stichk about your name and the mob but I am afraid the sarcasm would be lost. In all seriousness I totally agree that this is unacceptable but, you have to agree that it is a small infraction compared to some of the other shenanigans that have been perpetrated in the commissioner’s office over the past few years.

The good father has taken issue with this subject implying it is such an insignificant topic it is almost beneath one to comment on. I would hope in the future the good father would put a more positive spin on his comments with a real proposed solution rather than just criticism. In that light I commend the Gaurdian for bringing this to our attention. A positive effect of this will be second thoughts before the county commissioners or other elected officials use nepotism or favoritism in their hiring practices

Political patronage is an institution in this country and the world for that matter. Be glad this is not akin to Chicago in the 20’s and 30’s. (It’s close, but not quite there….yet) I know there are some who feel this is unfair, and it is. What is even more egregious than this is unfair practice is when employers will not even look at the applications of the long term unemployed. Some applications these days ask specifically how long a person has been out of work. Where is the uproar about this? The government of the State of Idaho practices discrimination in this and a myriad of other matters on a daily basis. Where is the uproar about this? There are so many inequities in the world that this one pales in comparison.
