Thank you so much for your story about our Ada County Public Administration website. We love publicity for the site because the more traffic it gets, the greater the proceeds are, and the fewer taxpayer dollars that need to be used to support this legally mandated function of the elected county treasurer. Although, on the surface, it might sound silly to post articles of clothing, such as bras (tags still on), we think of these lower-priced items in the same way a grocery store uses “loss leaders” to entice customers in to buy higher priced items. In our case, we have benefited by attracting higher prices for our estate vehicles. Since adding the website to our methods of disposing of estate assets, we have increased our returns dramatically; thereby reducing the amount of taxpayer dollars needed to process the estate probate. Keep up the good support!

Odd, there are people and companies which make a living cleaning up the little stuff like this… kinda like the storage wars show.

I guess following the law is so yesterday anymore. This is what county treasurers have to do. You don’t like it? Get the law changed. And if she doesn’t follow the law, well, I’m sure we all could guess what the county commissioners would do.

I think it’s a great idea so long as it’s in the black. If they are having to pay someone more than the revenue from the items, then please, just give the stuff to Youth Ranch.
