The following is a snippet of what one US Military spokesman said about the F-35. I can recall reading similar hogwash in the brochure of the worst car GM ever built. These guys are really slathering on the KY.

I believe we will eventually discover the military/government spy apparatus has been used to gather intelligence on those citizens opposed to F-35 in Boise. An enemies list is obviously being maintained by the Airport. Start digging and thou shall find. A dissatisfied staffer with good sense of justice is likely the best bet.

The only way to fix this mess now is all new people in City Hall. A clean sweep like what happened when Brent Coles got forced out by the police union.

Hopefully, we will have a different political scene before then, so this 10 year ‘reprieve’ is irrelevant.

Pretty naive for anyone to think the F-35 is not coming to a town near you- at some point.

Trump’s budget proposal has little if anything to do with what Congress will finally approve. Who knows what they will do. My bet is that the final budget will have a lot of can kicking in it.

The 2012 Air Force Boise EIS scenario #1 evaluated a squadron of F35s in addition to the current squadron of A10s. All the decision to keep A10s does is to strip away one of the proponents justifications for pursuing the F35s in order to keep a IANG mission. The real draw of the F35 is the defense pork that goes with this program. They will still pursue it!

I am sure Boise will still try for the F35. Gownen can accommodate both one squadron of A10s and one squadron of F35s. And the military pork that comes with the F35 is what is what is so appealing to our politicians. There seems to be an inexhaustible supply of it!
