Been following this as closely as I can. We are considering a move to the burbs of Boise.

Looking at the runways of Gowan it appears they run SE/NW. Will these warbirds be taking off and landing in both directions? I figure the answer must be yes, and if so, what altitude will they be at over Meridian and Eagle?

Journee according to Boise Weekly: “It appears to be a a small group of people, inserting themselves between the city and the citizens in this community that we’ve been trying to communicate with. And quite honestly, we’re disturbed by the fact that we can’t get the right information to a larger number of people who have legitimate concerns about this issue.”

Yeah, Mike. It really stinks when those damned citizens organize and “insert themselves” into the process. So much easier when they just take the City’s word for things.

F-35 is not the story, it is the visible symptom of a festering disease. The disease being elected representatives who have stopped representing and only want to lead, and by “lead” I mean help the citizens understand while they support position A, position B is really what they need, just trust them.

So now, the new Boise Weekly is publishing some summaries of what is going on. It is quite a collection of information and readable. I thought that the City spokesman’s comments were interesting. He says that those in opposition to the F-35 are telling lies. (I think that is what he said.) Lies about noise levels, about the destructive capacity of said noise, the impact on neighborhoods. and other things, so says the city spokesman. It is a really political statement from them vs. looking for agreement or facts. Agreement would be to say that this is a deal wherein the costs need to be critically and carefully evaluated. This is a bad deal for the community, especially those east of Broadway and Vista, as far as I can tell. Why doesn’t Journey evaluate this in the same way residents do? What information is not being shared?

We’ve keep pretending that voting works, and our government keeps getting bigger and more repressive. The main problem is that the corporate media lies. They brand good political candidates as unelectable or not mainstream. If, by some crazy accident, a good candidate gets elected, the corporate money corrupts them, or they are just ignored. We need a complete system reset. Voting is for chumps.

If any one wants a bet on if you get a new mayor or a big changes in city council.. or a city staff change (that runs the city ) give me a yell…10 to 1 odds?

Will also give good odds for all the neighborhood associations getting together and giving money to defeat the mayor…

EDITOR NOTE–Porc, you got it! We just need a couple of “logical” well grounded candidates from ANY political background to run.

One of the new crop is Bieter’s former law partner, another is probably handpicked by Maryanne Jordan. There is no “organized” opposition on the horizon. We have to give Team Dave kudos for being the most adept political force in Idaho.

The voters could unite too. Vote for a new set of council people and mayor. That is the takeaway for the continued success of Boise as a community. You won’t respond or listen to the citizens and the citizens vote you out.

So-called Avigation Easements initiated in the mid-70s by developers & their political cronies are very unethical & unconstitutional . These were made to avoid mandatory 50% cuts in property taxes to properties in the flight path & continue high density construction in the flight path.

Similar corruption initiated the very costly necessity to move the Denver airport a few years back.
Having the best government money can buy isn’t working for us. Political prostitution continues because citizens seem to lack the initiative to enforce accountability by bankrupting the perps.
Assuring the perps that each & every individual will be held financially accountable in a Class Action Lawsuit has worked to halt several nasty industrial developments in our area. This was accomplished without spending a cent on lawyers but it does require the will to gather the information evidence necessary to protect yourself.

If Treasure Valley Neighborhood Associations lack the good sense to unite & adopt a proven strategy to enforce accountability we will continue to be molested by our public serpents. Enforcing representative government is every American’s duty & obligation.
