I was sure he would be sitting in first class but NO, he was sitting in coach with the rest of us citizens. He was just one of all of us and that small thing I observed left me with a lasting memory of Cecil Andrus.

I sure wish we had more politicians like Cecil today. I can’t help but believe our country would be in much better shape. He really did have a good sense of doing the right thing.

EDITOR NOTE–And I wish we had coach seating today like you mentioned!

His leadership created a comfortable place during the crazy 70s decade.

I met him in person once. Things were not going well that day. Mother Nature was having her way with us. He recognized the pressure was already substantial thus he was gracious and patient.

Work brought me in contact with many political leaders and famous people over the years. This man was one of a kind.

Loved it. My best comes from a time when my oldest daughter and I were at Blacks Creek, sitting. Cece was there and admired how quickly she became a great shot. Another guy was sitting between Cece and Leslie, shooting with equipment worth a ton but he couldn’t hit a thing. Leslie asked if she could help the poor guy zero in his scope. The guy got all red, packed up his gun and left in ahuff. Cece about lost it, he was laughing so hard. We shot together for a while and, every time I saw him after that day he’d ask how Leslie was doing. A class act.
