Smoke from forest fires in the Northwest portion of the USA has settled on the capitol city of Boise, Idaho Thursday August 20 (left). The unhealthy air covers the entire state, prompting warnings from state health officials . The bad air is predicted to last for the next five days. The image at right shows the view along Capitol Blvd. in April for comparison. DAVID R. FRAZIER PHOTOLIBRARY, Inc.
If the Dem’s wanted to help us have cleaner air they would support reducing the fuel loads of grass and dead trees by supporting more grazing and logging.
EDITOR NOTE– Even if they did, you would need someone to eat the meat and build more wooden structures.
Greg- More human “management” of the planet, because it has worked so incredibly well so far. What splendiferous idea, and so original! I can’t imagine how the planet possibly existed before we were around to make everything right.
Greg, not sure what you mean. Bureaucrats, not politicians set the standards for grazing rights on public lands. Supposed to be done by factual standards. Might not be, but, not a single political party makes the decision.
Does anyone think such cities/towns will heed the warning fires of Washington, Colorado (remember the neighborhoods burned up)? Heck California fires have burnes houses for years…

Another remarkable photo of a troubling condition.

It was just as smokey all the way to Reno today.
EDITOR NOTE– I drove to Glacier Park and back through Sand Point and down U.S. 95 and Cascade…fires and smoke all the way.

Looks like winter in the 70s and 80s sans snow.

We can trust the camera setting were equal in both photos? 😉
It’s no wonder the dinosaurs died.
EDITOR NOTE–No tricks or bias with the camera. Smoke is smoke. As the legal court standard says, “The picture portrays what it purports to portray.”

Solid smoke between Boise and SLC today and yesterday. Terrible.

Needless to say, I am concerned. But can’t hold my breath for 4 days. We had smoke pollution in Twin Cities in early July from Saskatchewan.
