Boise Dev Analyzes F-35 Petition

Even though he got stonewalled by some of the players, Don Day at his BOISEDEV site was able to get some comments from the politicos about the petition sent to officials regarding the F-35.

Day did a good job reporting on the petition and the comments. Worth a look.

  1. In the mayor’s response, he says homes around the airport were “grandfathered in” as allowable use. Can anyone tell me if this is true?

Years of deception & lies from F-35 proponents at hearings to coverup impact of this exceptionally loud aircraft & citizen’s research for the truth proves the F-35 will inflict major health & property damages to thousands in our community. This debacle is supported by both political parties.
F-35 proponents have a long record of propagating lies & deception at numerous mock hearings over the past several years that has exhibited willful intent to to harm our community. The lobbying cartel that wags the tail of our local & state officials stand to make many millions off the removal of condemned properties & rebuilding process elsewhere.

*The economic study completed by F-35 proponents is one-sided , it does not take into account the loss of homes, businesses & schools that will be condemned by EPA noise standards, nor the loss in property taxes.

If F-35 proponents are successful in bringing these aircraft to Boise & do initiate the damages we expect there is only one recovery option.available.
Proven case law is in place to file a Major Class Action Lawsuit against each & every F-35 proponent once the damage is done. it’s up to proponents to decide what path they want to take.
Mayor Bieter has already stated that if he loses the F-35s that he will pursue the F-22s, an equally loud aircraft.

Citizens are constitutionally responsible to control & discipline ethically challenged public servants….
There is a movement under way to meet & unite all Treasure Valley Neighborhood Associations to cope with major political / lobbyists assaults such as this. There is strength in numbers, take the initiative & unite now.

  3. Start asking the Neighborhood Associations for money for studies/or political donations and see what happens.

  4. Two things: 1 if Boise has “no say” over what flies out of Gowen, then why the big money spent to promote the F35 there? and 2. There are Air Guard units flying out of active Air Force base, so that argument by the Mayor won’t fly (humor) either.

  5. Erico is correct on both counts.

Just goes to show that the mayor and others are not honest in their comments.

  6. Regarding the grandfathering, I think that is a principle of land use, not one of health destroying and home destroying military jets that are more suitably operated away from the city. It will take an aviation lawyer to give the answer.

  7. The problem with the neighborhood association theory posted above is it’s a total scam:

    1) Most people know nothing about what it is.
    2) The leaders have been handpicked by the city.
    3) They are used to represent their sectors with the city so the city will not have to interact directly with the citizen.
    4) Most people refuse to get involved in even simple easy ways.

  8. Some F35 takeofss make more noise than normal takeoffs

No one has brought up the problem with the F35 and its short and vertical takeoff.

Like the Harrier jet the noise is deafening when they do vertical takeoffs. If the F35’s come to Boise will they not be allowed to do vertical take offs – no way.

The F-35B short takeoff/vertical landing (STOVL) variant is the world’s first supersonic STOVL stealth aircraft. It is designed to operate from austere bases and a range of air-capable ships near front-line combat zones.

It can also take off and land conventionally from longer runways on major bases. The U.S. Marine Corps’ F-35B aircraft reached initial operational capability (IOC) on July 31, 2015, when a squadron of 10 F-35Bs was declared ready for world-wide deployment.

The F-35B STOVL operation is made possible through the Rolls-Royce patented shaft-driven LiftFan® propulsion system and an engine that can swivel 90 degrees when in short takeoff/vertical landing mode. Because of the LiftFan®, the STOVL variant has smaller internal weapon bay and less internal fuel capacity than the F-35A. It uses the probe and drogue method of aerial refueling.

  9. The plan, as I understand it, is to make Boise a “Green Zone” after the economy of America is decimated by the Federal Reserve in a few months, and the rioting starts. These Green Zones will be in important major cities all over America. The government, banker, and corporate criminals will retreat to these zones where there is a heavy military and police presence. The rest of America is going back to the dark ages. That’s why we are hitting a wall on the F35’s. Not the future we dreamed of…

So-called Avigation Easements initiated in the mid-70s by developers & their political cronies are very unethical & unconstitutional . These were made to avoid mandatory 50% cuts in property taxes to properties in the flight path & continue high density construction in the flight path.

Similar corruption initiated the very costly necessity to move the Denver airport a few years back.
Having the best government money can buy isn’t working for us. Political prostitution continues because citizens seem to lack the initiative to enforce accountability by bankrupting the perps.
Assuring the perps that each & every individual will be held financially accountable in a Class Action Lawsuit has worked to halt several nasty industrial developments in our area. This was accomplished without spending a cent on lawyers but it does require the will to gather the information evidence necessary to protect yourself.

If Treasure Valley Neighborhood Associations lack the good sense to unite & adopt a proven strategy to enforce accountability we will continue to be molested by our public serpents. Enforcing representative government is every American’s duty & obligation.

  11. The voters could unite too. Vote for a new set of council people and mayor. That is the takeaway for the continued success of Boise as a community. You won’t respond or listen to the citizens and the citizens vote you out.

  12. If any one wants a bet on if you get a new mayor or a big changes in city council.. or a city staff change (that runs the city ) give me a yell…10 to 1 odds?

Will also give good odds for all the neighborhood associations getting together and giving money to defeat the mayor…

    Start with the North end!
EDITOR NOTE–Porc, you got it! We just need a couple of “logical” well grounded candidates from ANY political background to run.

One of the new crop is Bieter’s former law partner, another is probably handpicked by Maryanne Jordan. There is no “organized” opposition on the horizon. We have to give Team Dave kudos for being the most adept political force in Idaho.

    Boise Weekly Survey… So far

Do you support bringing the F-35 mission to Gowen Field?

    Yes. 226 votes (31.61%)

    No. 481 votes (67.27%)

    I don’t know. 8 votes (1.12%)

  14. Are the F-35’s the only story that this blog covers any more?

EDITOR NOTE–Thomas, I share your concern. I wish we had more topics, but there is little “new” that we are aware of.

  15. Voting doesn't work
    Jul 19, 2017, 12:23 pm

We’ve keep pretending that voting works, and our government keeps getting bigger and more repressive. The main problem is that the corporate media lies. They brand good political candidates as unelectable or not mainstream. If, by some crazy accident, a good candidate gets elected, the corporate money corrupts them, or they are just ignored. We need a complete system reset. Voting is for chumps.

  16. So now, the new Boise Weekly is publishing some summaries of what is going on. It is quite a collection of information and readable. I thought that the City spokesman’s comments were interesting. He says that those in opposition to the F-35 are telling lies. (I think that is what he said.) Lies about noise levels, about the destructive capacity of said noise, the impact on neighborhoods. and other things, so says the city spokesman. It is a really political statement from them vs. looking for agreement or facts. Agreement would be to say that this is a deal wherein the costs need to be critically and carefully evaluated. This is a bad deal for the community, especially those east of Broadway and Vista, as far as I can tell. Why doesn’t Journey evaluate this in the same way residents do? What information is not being shared?

  17. F-35 is not the story, it is the visible symptom of a festering disease. The disease being elected representatives who have stopped representing and only want to lead, and by “lead” I mean help the citizens understand while they support position A, position B is really what they need, just trust them.

  18. Journee according to Boise Weekly: “It appears to be a a small group of people, inserting themselves between the city and the citizens in this community that we’ve been trying to communicate with. And quite honestly, we’re disturbed by the fact that we can’t get the right information to a larger number of people who have legitimate concerns about this issue.”

Yeah, Mike. It really stinks when those damned citizens organize and “insert themselves” into the process. So much easier when they just take the City’s word for things.

  19. Been following this as closely as I can. We are considering a move to the burbs of Boise.

Looking at the runways of Gowan it appears they run SE/NW. Will these warbirds be taking off and landing in both directions? I figure the answer must be yes, and if so, what altitude will they be at over Meridian and Eagle?
