On Monday, TJ Thomson filed his first Campaign Financial Disclosure Report with the City of Boise. TJ raised over $40,000 through September 30th from over 475 donations.
“I am proud of the widespread support this campaign has received over the last couple months.” said TJ. “Together, we can protect our quality of life and preserve our open spaces, build a public transportation system for today and tomorrow, develop a plan for smart, quality growth, and strengthen and diversify our local economy.”
Complete candidate reports are available at the Boise CITY CLERK.

Hey Chryssa, are you SURE the council race is non-partisan?? Mr.Thomson’s campaign donation list reads like a “who’s who” in Ada county democratic politics!!

Check out his list of endorsements, too, cyclops! With 1 or 2 possible exceptions… do any Boise Republicans have confidence in Mr. Thomson?

Mr. Thomson appears to be a cookie cut out of the Boise Democrat Machine. Is this the future of Boise politics? Align yourself with a political party walk lockstep with said parties issues de jour. Engage in group think and go to the right cocktail parties?
I went to this guys website and I see nothing but vague democrat talking points but nothing concrete. You could slap any John q. Democrat’s name on his platform page… yawn.
TJ, you seem like a nice guy and you obviously have paid your dues within your political party. But for an independent such as myself I would like to hear something original, passionate, intelligent, but also specific.
Everything appears contrived as if this is just step one in a political career. Maybe, I’m being too cynical but until I hear some substance I’m not buying it.

$2141 in dollars from Washington DC
$750 from Howard Dean (Dems for America)
$3900 from Labor Unions
$300 Walt Minnick
$250 David Eberle
$150 Dave Bieter
If you search the Secretary of State website, many of the small individual donors also donated to the Idaho Democrat Party last year. The Dems think they can buy elections. Meanwhile the GOP is still debating whether it is a partisan race. LOL.

Most important to note: TJ is endorsed by the mayor and both incumbants who all support the trolley. My focus will be wise use of city resources, transparent accountable government and a constant eye on making sure the needs of the city are fisrt priority. I seek my endorsement form the voters, not special interests or entrenched politicians.

Daniel, I’m with you on you wanting the endorsement of the citizens. However you will need money because they will bury you with mailings to the voters. This will push you off the radar and any damage control with be much harder on your part.
