No doubt about it, the English language has taken a beating at the thumbs of today’s electronic media folks. The web reporter/editor at the Saturday IDAHO STATESMAN has just earned a coveted GUARDIAN “dope reporter award” with this gem:
Man killed in US 20 wreck
“A 53-year-old man died Friday night after being rearended on US Highway 20 east of Notus.”

The opportunities presented here are, indeed, both rife and manifold. Let us hope that the reporter has (or will) learn from error and be more cautious in the future, lest this crumb be part of the bread cast upon the water of life.
EDITOR NOTE–Not sure if it was GUARDIAN award or wise senior staffer, but the story was changed after we took note of the delightful wording.

Give equal blame to the reporter and the editor.
