Explosives Site Not Likely A Foreign Terrorist Link

The cryptic language in police updates said little about the bomb making site, but the GUARDIAN has been assured the case is not a foreign terrorist and the aftermath of a family feud and kidnapping arrest led to all the excitement.
Here’s how the coppers described the situation along with their thank-you list:
Investigators confirm finding chemicals and substances capable of producing explosive devices inside the crawl space of a home on the 2200 block of West Dorian Street.
Boise Police bomb technicians working alongside Boise Fire Haz Mat experts found more than 100 pounds of product inside the home in various stages of what appears to be bomb making.
“The amount of the substances and chemicals found did indeed pose a potential safety threat to the neighborhood. As we wrap up the investigation here at the house, we’re very appreciative of residents patience and cooperation. Their safety was at the center of all decisions made tonight,” said Boise Police Captain Eugene Smith.
Details of the evidence found is being shared by Boise Police, Ada County and federal prosecutors for review of additional criminal charges against the suspect Joshua Finch. Those details will be available at a later date in a criminal complaint.
At least two families–six people–who voluntarily evacuated the area took advantage of overnight accomodations offered through the Red Cross.
Boise Police and Boise Fire would like to thank members of the Whitney Baptist Church for the use of their parking lots and facilities. Church members opened their meeting and rest rooms to the emergency responders on scene. Thanks also go to the ATF, Ada County EMS, Garden City Police, ACHD and the Red Cross. Also to Boise Schools and Hawthorne Elementary who opened their school as a reception location for those evacuated.”

The Whitney Baptist Church and Hawthorne Elementary School have long been outstanding examples and leading proponents of leading community agencies in many instances. Both of the “agencies” deserve much praise for their community service and public spirited attitudes. From opening their doors as polling places to offering their space for respite care in times of emergencies to their outreach to neighbors and strangers to put the idea of “neighbor” in neighborhood and should be recognized and appreciated for so doing.

It’s not OVER-reaction. It’s REACTING . When they do something ONCE in a years time, if THAT, I suspect that there isn’t a whole lot of confidence or experience at play. More than likely they wanted to shut the neighborhood down for a couple of days but even this agency realized how ridiculous that would have been. The beautiful thing about Boise is the low crime rate. Unfortunately that means an unproven police department full of image makers and frauds.

I can’t wait to hear what the “explosive substances” are. Ammonia Nitrate fertilizer stored under the house would not be a surprise to me. In the absence of more information I am in the “reacting” mode on this one.
