Id like information about the CCDC? Used to be the Boise Redevelopment Agency. Now it’s a corporation with lots of real estate! Being controlled by Boise city elected officials. Was that the original idea? Are property taxpayers subsidizing their existence?

EDITOR NOTE–Really a lengthy one to explain, but YES, property taxes are diverted AWAY from schools, ACHD, city and county to benefit the urban renewal district. CCDC is dominated by Boise officials and those favorable to Team Dave. It is a virtual “pot of gold” and horribly misused based on the original intent. Often used to get around idaho Constitution and ignore voters.

But, but, parking rates Downtown are going up, and the hours and day of enforcement are increasing. That’s news!!

Team Dave and his badged minions are collecting more revenue for his Folly, the Trolly.

I just got my property tax bill for Ada County. It went up another 10%. Anybody else see an increase like that? Of course, mine has gone up every year so I shouldn’t be surprised.

May be trivial but I wish there was some looking into the composting bin fiasco. In my neighborhood sacks of leaves have been sitting out two weeks come Turkey Day. They are getting pretty soggy and expect many will rip open spilling the contents in the gutters when they do get picked up. Calling Republic Services the official stance for the delay is all the leaves fell at once this year. Lame!

Also, the rule requiring that excess composting items must be placed in paper bags as opposed to small trash cans is ridiculous. If excess composting items are placed in small trash cans and set out with the required overflow stickers the contents end up in the landfill. Why? According to city hall the sack rule is because they fear non-compost items would end up in the trashcans. When pointing out said items could as easily be placed in a sack there was silence. Lame!

Oh, I am still waiting for my smaller trash bin that I requested during the order phase several months back. I still have my super large one but have verified I am being charged for the smaller size I requested. According to Ms. Chertudi (sp) the grand designer of the program it is the truck drivers who are the check and balance on ensuring houses have the correct size of bins. Yea, right! Suspect I will have the larger bin and be paying less for quite some time. Sure I could call and fess up but I would rather play the game and see just how long it will be. Ms. Chertudi (sp) ensures me I won’t be ordered to pay back charges.

Speaking of charges. Does anyone else think it strange why your trash collection charges are so vague and lack detailed information? The reason – the “system” won’t allow it”. Lame!

My biggest sore point on this entire fiasco is that I am sure Ms. Chertudi (sp) and others associated have all been given high fives and slaps on the back on what a great job they did in rolling out the program. I doubt if any of the mistakes will be brought up in any performance evals and raises will be awarded as customary. Yea, much has diverted from the landfill but at what cost?

Me thinks the mayor and his people need to focus more on the day-to-day running of the city and less on his train fantasy and baseball stadium.

I’m just not understanding why we need another baseball field for BSU. Between all of the baseball fields it just seems that BSU and others could work out a schedule that would work for every one.

A better quality of life free of being over-taxed & molested by our public employees is well within our immediate grasp..
Fulfilling our civic obligation as oath enforcers to hold corrupt officials accountable for violating their oath employment contracts would be a meaningful show of thanks to our Founders & veterans..
Public records provide us the evidence necessary to promptly fire the rascals,, beats whining & would let them know that the free- ride is over..

It’s funny how the downtown stadium talk has largely been silent, at least from the corporate media side of things – ever since Betsy Russell’s alarm over GBAD’s potential violation of the Open Meeting Law. Sounds like the crooks got their hands caught in the cookie jar!

“Elections are in December” according to recording of last meeting. Perhaps that means letting the Mayor know if you are interested in being considered.

EDITOR NOTE–Not sure your reference here. We have a consolidated election law in Idaho which offers a chance to vote on everything from bonds, primary candidates, and a general election. March, May, August, and November.

The website has recordings of past meetings. “elections in December” probably means in-house board elections. Probably meant to say ‘approvals’ rather than elections? At any rate, anyone interested in being considered should certainly let the mayor’s office know.
