More Expansion Plans At BSU

Boise State University is a “city within a city” with millions upon millions of dollars worth of tax-exempt public buildings. Those buildings and the people who live and work in them are protected by Boise taxpayers.

Yeah, yeah, all those people and construction mean jobs for locals and economic benefits for Boise businesses. They also have eliminated countless homes and businesses from the tax rolls. Granted, BSU pays for Boise coppers to patrol the campus, but they get fire, rescue, and ambulance service for free.

Its nice to have the blue turf university in our city, but it is also time for them to suck up some of the costs they foist on the local taxpayers.

BOISEDEV has an interesting piece detailing plans to update the BSU master plan and some of the future plans.

I expect BSU to ideologically travel beyond the lunatic fringe before the State can figure out how to terminate to new out of state culture they hired. If you value your values, suggest not enrolling kids. There’re better schools for the same money with traditional values which won’t try to erase all your parenting.

Keep scoring wins against 3rd rate teams BSU and nobody will care what you do.

  3. Rising fees and rising building costs. Correlation? Increased traffic and plans for parking garages. correlation?

Is there a course for talking out of both sides of your mouth?

They are what – 5th tier?

Never given much thought to cost of housing BSU in our once endearing city, oops! That said, if we are going to spend the money, I feel Boise State offers a better return on investment than a multi-million dollar library.

  5. Nobody gets ambulance service for free.
If you use it, you get a bill.

  6. It’s important for indoctrination camps to be subsidized so that we can raise for AOCs and push for socialism. Higher education just means higher taxes and lower skills for most students that don’t have a clue as to what they are being trained for. How sad this is.

  7. Speaking of ambulances

Lot’s of people are retiring in Cascade and McCall only to be “surprised” by the lack of health care options. So they are taking ambulances to Boise at the cost of the taxpayers of those cities/counties. The hospitals won’t cover it. Don’t go live in the sticks and expect up to date dialysis or organ transplants. There is a scoop here.
