Boise School District officials made a grievous error when they agreed to stage what amounts to a political rally for Boise Mayor Dave Bieter.
The RALLY is set for Sept. 25 AT Camel’s Back Park during school hours. It is being billed as part of the “Boise Kind” promotion the city purchased with tax money.
Bieter is set to address the children of North End constituents and urge them to “be kind.” School super Coby Dennis said, “When it comes to kindness, our schools live it every day so, when the City approached us to participate in the Boise Kind initiative, we eagerly replied yes!”
The so-called kindness carnival will have students from Boise High, North Jr. High and three elementary schools attending.
The six other candidates running for Boise mayor are missing a bet if they fail to demand equal time at the microphone. We have said it before: Dave Bieter is the most brilliant politician in Idaho. Don’t forget one of his major supporters is Fire Chief Dennis Doan who just happens to be on the school board.
Here’s how the school district bills the EVENT.

My child will not be going and will be learning instead about political issues.

What’s wrong with you? How can you advocate against kindness? How can you complain about your tax dollars being spent for kindness? You should mend your attitudes or the enlightened will be forced to treat you in an unkindly manner.

Wow, the pre-election frenzy is on at City Hall. Team Dave is: giving his state of the city address; speaking to school kids; police chief departs just before the legal wrangling begins (who wants messy stuff like selling guns out of your BPD office tainting the election?).
Dave will be everywhere next few weeks… just watch your TV and social media outlets.
Oops, Motive Power just announced it’s leaving Boise. Quality of life problems? Anyone remember that MK did massive locomotive repairs in Boise? No more. Turn the land into high end condo’s!

Why aren’t all district schools, pulling kids from class for same amount of time to “contemplate kindness?” Can I opt out for my kid, who attends a sponsoring school? If so, does my kid stand out and become subject to bullying? If not attending, will there still be classes for my kid?
Parents did not have an opportunity to weigh the pros and cons of this misguided project that forces our students to attend what amounts to political pontification in the guise of a school-sponsored learning project.

The Kindness Carnival requires the F-35 flyover to wow the crowd. And I hope the Urban CAS folks, both JTAC and the F-15s, have been invited.

Inna: your comments are AWESOME! And spot on.
City Hall has gone f-ing nuts with their programs…

This sort of thing is just a couple of steps away from Mao’s special camps. They go straight for the kids while they are most impressionable. I respect people who keep their children away from this manipulative political garbage. It is harmful. I wonder if there will be an alternative lifestyle recruitment effort.
Absolute power corrupts absolutely. TeamDave is an excellent example of the stubborn sludge and barnacles which form as a result of political stagnation. If TeamDave cared about Boise and respected how our republic was intended to be governed TeamDave would have passed the torch after two terms.

These topics can be covered in classes or in the gym or auditorium with real content. For the school to take only one segment of town to the party with Bieter adds insult to injury. Some schools are suffering so bad with overcrowding and underperformance. All the other schools should take their students out for an afternoon of fun. Who is providing security? Good day and time to knock off a bank. Good day to skip school and stay home and rest and read. The parents of these students are not fooled.

Doesn’t Bieter have any shame at all? This is just too disgusting !!!

It is time to file a law suit against the Boise School District Board for supporting a political candidate!
Maybe the IRS needs to look at the District and re assess their tax status too.
And might be a good idea to begin a recall petition drive for the entire board.

The Mao camp concept hits it right on the head. That’s how we got to where we are. Years and years of Marxist/PC propaganda has programmed parents and society to believe that America is “not kind.” But look who the most intolerant people are now….the Left demands that everyone, except their own extremist band, are the oppressors.
You will know just how much people have been sleeping when ANTIFA rallies pop up on the steps of City Hall, praised by City Council, just like Portland. District 19 (Northend) is the most reliable Dem voting population. It also is where most of who would be an ANTIFA type would reside. I know this because I spent time in the Occupy Boise movement and saw firsthand the prelude to such extremism mounting.
Bieter is smart to convene such pilgrimages to PC idols in such places. It’s monolithic in thought and no danger of queries from independent thinkers. It’s pure NPC land. Programming kids is easy to do and Marxists are very good at it.

Great idea!
It is beneficial that the school district is making solid efforts to counter-act all the hate-filled messages being spewed into the air now-a-days.
I’m sure the message Wednesday will be much better than this quote from a speaker at a national ‘rally’ in 2016:
“I’d like to punch him in the face, I tell ya.”

Wishful thinking Ethyl. To some extent we agree. Where we probably disagree is the school is taking sides with the biggest political BS machine in Idaho. A school funded by all. A school required by law to remain nonpolitical.

Easterner, your bias decries your honesty. I recently saw the candidate from New Jersey use the same language. I once saw another candidate threaten violence behind the bleachers. Yet, from your end of the tunnel you only see one perpetrator as the cause of the current discourse. Please be honest with yourself so we can consider you honest with us.
