Tension Rises Over Virus Lock Down

THIS POST HAS BEEN UPDATED AT 4p.m. Wednesday
Like wolves and global warming, the COVID-19 virus has become a political issue.

Yesterday in Meridian Sara Brady, 40, was arrested for trespassing after refusing to leave a playground area of Kleiner Park where she accompanied her children. Police asked the woman to leave the area for health reasons, but she refused in an apparent act of civil disobedience.

Upon her arrest she urged witnesses to “call the Idaho Freedom Foundation.” The group is involved in promoting protest events about the coronavirus lock down.

Sara was in friendly surroundings. Her husband, Tim Brady, is a Boise copper. Officers radioed for Tim and he picked up the children.

Meanwhile, here is an excerpt of an ordinance passed Monday by the Caldwell city council:

Park playgrounds are also closed in Boise.

  1. Lockdown the Govt & Fake Media
    Apr 22, 2020, 10:00 am

Terrorists, Alien Invasion, or Pandemic, there is absolutely no excuse for Martial Law. It is an act of treason.

Corporate Media is lying, about everything, and plying American Citizens with propaganda 24/7.

When Govt ceases to be the servant, and tries to become the Master, it’s time for a Revolution.

  2. Why won’t the state officials enforce the law? Are they pushing it down to the county? Ok, so good luck Boundary County.

What good is a governor’s order if he won’t enforce it? This is a sign of indecision, which we do not need in leaders.

Sorry for all victims of the disease. (Not complainers who should stay home, actual health victims.)

  3. The Steepen the Curve rallies and Astroturfing i.e. pretending the protest is bubbling up from some non-coordinated grassroots sentiment. Instead it’s just the opposite – there’s a web of inter-connections and coordinated effort from the usual suspects.

  4. Party is just getting started

This is a different game. It’s safe to complain about vaccinations within an immunized herd. Some people complain for a living. However, this virus will prove them wrong. It’s here, we have no defense, and it sticks like glue. We are in the first or second inning.

  5. ha!
So, apparently being married to a cop and being an anti-vaxxer is not enough brains to get a hall pass for trespassing on city property.

Sarah Walton Brady is disrespectful to the LEO and to OUR medical community. But the woman with the recording phone takes the cake!

I like how she says, “but we pay taxes. we paid for this park.”
How times must her cop husband hear that lame whine? lol.

tip- if you want to get arrested do it when you are NOT the one responsible for getting your children home safely- oh wait- the ‘care-train’ AND the brain-train must have left long ago.

Scared about approved vaccines- but the 12 Covid deaths in Ada County in 1 month (DURING isolation) is not a concern.

IDIOTS! Take your playgroup of 40 people to your church if you insist.

  6. 2nd study confirms CoronaHoax
    Apr 22, 2020, 2:51 pm

The first scientific study of the COVID-19 virus in Santa Clara, CA found that the rate of infection was 50 to 80 times more than the official “cases” number.

This high infection rate means that the Death Rate is FAR LOWER than thought. It means it really is no different than the annual flu.

Now, a second study has just concluded in Los Angeles, and the findings were nearly identical.

“…The University of Southern California and the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health conducted antibody testing on 863 people for the new study.

It’s findings are further consistent with a recent report produced by Stanford researchers, who believe coronavirus in Santa Clara County is also much more widespread than official figures…”

    https://www.zerohedge.com/health/la-stanford-studies-show-virus-more-widespread-less-deadly-thought

All the newly minted Pandemic Experts who parrot the official propaganda aren’t helping.

Remember the Corporate Media lies about the non-existent Weapons of Mass Destruction that kicked off the never-ending wars in the Middle East?

Yep, that’s the same lying Corporate Media that is trying to sell Martial Law as a fun new adventure. A New Normal. The Second Wave is coming!! Cowering in Fear Saves Lives! Etc, etc…

  7. Help, help the paranoids are after me. So what part of stay at home don’t you rocket scientists understand? Ya it seems a bit to much for MPD to do that to the lady, but she was just being stupid for not just leaving. Do you all understand cross contamination? That’s a very good reason to try to stay on our own property. It would take me a hour to explain all the ways for CC to happen but looking at the comments here and elsewhere, it is way over most of your heads. What is wrong trying for a couple more weeks looking out for you fellow human. But most of you mouth breathers are just to stingy. Hmm, I feel flames on my back.

The lady just wanted her 15 minutes of fame which comes with the arrest and subsequent media attention. As if her antivaccine movement wasn’t enough, it landed guest time slots with local talking heads Nate Shelman and Kevin Miller. It was a staged protest by the Idaho Freedom Foundation as beforehand they tore off the caution tape from the playground. Wayne Hoffman is sure happy.

  9. Don't ignore this virus
    Apr 22, 2020, 4:44 pm
  10. Last year the seasonal “flu” killed about 62k people and we had a flu vaccine. This year we have seen about 42k deaths from the Corona virus and no vaccine.
If you go to the Idaho Dept of Public Health there is an excellent graphic on the Corona stats in Idaho. The outbreak is a near perfect curve. When all this is said and done, I can’t help but wonder if we all haven’t been had with regards to the severity of the Corona virus. There is no question about the economic impacts and the “free money” will result in a long term payback for all of us with incomes.

If you put yourself out as in support of rule of law patriotic citizens, being belligerent and showing up at a cops home to harass and intimidate them and bully your way into whatever version of this that makes you think you’re a winner, is the wrong way to do it. You all have the right to petition your government for the redress of grievance, that doesn’t mean you should go to a guys house and act like a spoiled petulant child. Go see the people you elected to have agency to make these laws and present a rational and civil case to repeal those laws and if that fails, you go run for the office and demonstrate that a plurality of your community agrees with your position and make the change you want.

Quit it with your whining and tantrum throwing and be an adult! Nobody, especially the overtly conservative government of Meridian Idaho, is out to stand on your neck and take away your civil liberties. What you’re seeing is the exercise of very seldom used legitimate function of your government in response to an actual thing that is happening in the world. It is temporary and won’t likely set precedence to justify future abuse of that power.

The bottom line here is this: This kind of behavior makes you and Idaho look like a gaggle of back-water, low brow, reactionaries. If that’s the look you’re going for then carry on, by all means. If however you want to be taken seriously and maybe even be admired for being the thoughtfully rugged individual thinkers and defenders of liberty that Idaho tries to represent itself as, grow up and handle your business like thoughtfully rugged individual thinkers and fix what you see as the problem with reason and dignity.

  12. I can’t believe the steaming piles of manure people post as a news source. Peer reviewed medical journals only please if topic is COVID.

ZeroHedge is literally a commie propaganda rag masquerading as conservative libertarian. It tells the paranoid what they want to hear. Google the origin and ownership.

The mtexpress article is kinda news. The article tells me the hospital system is broken. It costs us way too much. It has too many chiefs and not enough indians. Life and death choices made by bean counters.

  13. Laws of oppression
    Apr 22, 2020, 10:31 pm

The number of laws in a society is in inverse correlation to how free that society is.

The USA has so many laws, that it would take 3 lifetimes to read through all the laws that apply to you.

Every person in America commits on average, 3 felonies a day.

All the horrors perpetrated by Hitler in Nazi Germany were 100% legal.

  14. If anyone thinks this ‘no different than the annual flu’ or it is a hoax,
there are an awful lot of dead people willing to call you a _ IDIOT!

Fact – Idaho had 255 flu/pneumonia DEATHS in 2017 and 235 for 2018 (latest year of stats).
That is a combination of flu, AND pneumonia. Two different things, but the Idaho stats don’t separate them since they are often related and it is a relatively low number. For the slow readers, a person can get deadly pneumonia from a bacteria infection rather than the flu virus.
    240 for a year!

Idaho has 54 Covid deaths since March 13.
So far, WITH ISOLATION and every damn piece of information in the state focused on COVID and every informed person taking EVERY precaution they choose to — 54 deaths.

Considering the exponential curve- pretty easy to round that 54 deaths to a month of results
Or if yesterdays news is fair, 2 or 3 deaths PER DAY equals 60-90 deaths per months in Idaho is about par. At that rate, it is 700-1,000 deaths for a year, in Idaho, WHILE ISOLATED!

The normal 200+ flu/pneu deaths are when people just don’t give a dang and that happens.

Anyone want to guess how many Idahoan would have died IF every gym was open, daycares, restaurants,
bars, business as usual for the past month?
Answer: WAY TF more than “the annual flu”.

The total Covid deaths in US is expected to be about 50,000 by May 1.
The first death was Feb 28- (known cause at the time and of course is now likely much earlier). In any case, March and April = 50,000 deaths. with 100% awareness in place.
25,000 deaths per month, WITH isolation and if continues, it could be 300,000 deaths in 12 months.
Maybe it’s reduced in the summer. But based on worldwide facts, the virus is spreading just fine in the southern hemisphere too (it is summertime there- in case you hoax nuts are not aware of how the sun works). There is no reason to think it will go away.

In recent years, flu-related deaths have ranged from about 12,000 to — in the worst year — 56,000, according to the CDC. 2017-2018 was the worst with 80,000 (over a whole season) with no attention to it. !Normally! more like 30- 50,000 deaths per year in the US.
Remind me how many for covid already? Under isolation? — almost 50,000 already in TWO MONTHS.

THIS year- Feb 15 thru April 11th, the actual flu death number is 5,474.
Covid looks like 4 to 10 x as many deaths.

Live free or die? Sure, Sounds great.
But our health care and funeral system can’t handle that slogan.

Crush the Curve – me and spouse went today and had antibody testing done today (blood draw, results within a couple of days). Would that everyone could do this – costs $105, some insurers will cover (Mr. Trump, could you consider $100 earmark of the $1200 per person just for antibody testing?). We meed statistics on a larger scale and that means testing….not just those so sick they are likely positive or in the hospital. Every state in country will have a different infection time/rate/curve/flattening. Example: ‘Crush’ testing began Monday in Idaho (Ada County). First 2000 antibody tests only resulted in 24 positives! These are random people, not people who think they may have been sick (and in fact, people who think they are currently sick cannot be tested this way). We do not have any form of immunity in Ada County (where this first batch came). Idaho is behind on getting and passing this curve. Compare results to random 3000 tests in New York, where over 13% were positive for antibodies (in New York City, over 21%).
There will certainly not be one blanket [National] path out of this. Every state will need to devise a plan based upon its numbers.

  16. More concisely- the IFF should be labeled a Domestic Terrorist Group along with Emmett’s Bundy and be monitored as similar militia.

Posting information about an arresting officer. And then related people showing up at his HOME???
THAT is what drug cartels and mafia do- intimidate the police/ intimidate witnesses.

It would go a long way to preventing the spread of the disease by keeping the borders and airports closed. We should also keep mass gatherings like rock concerts, movie theaters and sporting events closed, and also keep the most vulnerable quarantined while letting everyone else go back to work. Until then, I will enjoy cleaner air, less traffic, less growth and ACHD cancelling major road construction projects.

EDITOR NOTE–We assume you refer to the state borders. We also suggest fishing be closed to all but those over the age of 65, outboard power will be limited to 50 hp and bass tournament will be banned. Allow no planting or harvest of cauliflower, zucchini, or kale. P.U. trucks with more than 12 inches of clearance should be banned and anyone riding a personal watercraft or ATV shall be guilty of a felony punishable by 12 months confinement with their spouse.

To those defying Governor Little’s orders to Shelter-in-Place.

Personal liberties are important, critical and fundamental components to American people’s lives. However, during a public health crisis, the government must step in to prevent unnecessary spread of disease. COVID-19 has presented America with a public health crisis, as it is a very contagious virus that attacks the respiratory system and can be fatal. In response to such a threat, the Idaho government has asked citizens to shelter-in-place and practice social distancing, with an exception made for essential employees. This is done for the public’s health and safety, and in order to return to life as we know it, as soon as possible.

Even though public health and safety are threatened due to COVID-19, many of you still believe such orders from the government should not be followed. This is ethically despicable. By not staying home, the lives of essential employees such as doctors, nurses, grocery store workers and janitors are being placed at an even greater risk. Furthermore, each of you who are choosing to not stay home need to evaluate the privilege you have. It is a privilege to have a home in which to shelter-in-place; many people in this country are homeless, with no place to remain safe. Your selfishness is diminishing their safety. Further, as long as you continue to violate the shelter-in-place and social distancing rules, you are allowing the virus to continue to spread and the government orders to last longer. That means you are preventing people from returning to work in a timely manner, thus causing more money and jobs to be lost.

Further, this is an order from the government, and, according to the CDC, the state government has every right to issue such an order during a time of declared emergency. Therefore, by not following such orders you are breaking the law. Do your part, social distance and shelter-in-place so then Americans will be able to live their lives normally again and restraining laws will be lifted, and your personal liberties restored.

I urge those who are not staying home, reflect on your moral and ethical obligation to others and engage in collective activism. Altering behavior for a short amount of time, to help save lives and the economy, is not the loss of liberty but a choice to add to the ultimate good of society for the long run.

  21. Another organized opposition against IFF:
    https://idahoconservatives.com/

This reminds me of the effort against the North Idaho skinhead/racists as they tried to move into other parts of Idaho and E Oregon. Too Great for Hate?
Considering Rep Heather Scott is the epitome of IFF, the comparison seems fitting. Now we have people showing up at the Capital in battle gear with .223 mags.

Normal, rational conservatives need to help put a stop to the radical IFF, Idaho 3%, and Bundy style antics. Shine a light on it, call it what it is -ignorance!
Otherwise, one precinct at a time they will get a foothold and be enough to block all reasonable legislation in Idaho (local and state).

If you don’t care about your kids getting sick and dying, have some consideration for the health care providers. Oh…. but then it really is just about YOU and getting attention. Well then, I don’t care to remember your name. But I happen to be in a “high risk group” and have managed to live far beyond my life expectancy. I don’t want an idiot who thinks she is smart to be the person who takes me out.

  23. Wow….the amount of totalitarians in service to the Fear Mongers is astounding. Using the anemic death tolls as a sword to shout down libertarians is an old tactic. This is pure Statist worship. If you are in a hi-risk group, stay away from those you believe are risky, which is everyone else. WHY….do the healthy have to stop working and living?

If you all think this virus is going to unseat Trump, you are fooling yourselves. Because of the hard ass rules in Blue states, he will sail to victory. Look at the recent flips happening in Wisconsin and California. This whole thing will backfire. Scorched earth Fear peddling is not going to work.

Easterner is going full commie blast against every conservative he can call out. He MUST use racist language to smear the liberty seekers. Just like Trump has exposed the MSM as biased actors, this virus schtick has exposed the Left as total Stalins.

So glad I left the Left when I did.
