EDITOR NOTE–Word on the street is Idaho Power ripped up the park on a muddy day, but has stepped up and will fix it. There are signs at the park saying they are good for the fix.

Quarry View Park: I just wanted to say how horrifying the damages in the park as a result of Idaho Power’s work in there last Friday, I don’t know if someone from the city has been there to tour it yet, but it is horrid; it is appalling and really sad. I just wanted to let the Mayor know that we are sad in the East End about what’s happened to our park. Thank you.

Quarry View Park: I’m calling this afternoon about the mess near Quarry View Park, actually at Quarry View Reserve. I live right in the neighborhood and I’m not sure what happened on Friday but I heard that Idaho Power employees drove through the preserve area. At any rate it’s all torn up and I just wanted to call and register my complaint and also see if someone could phone me back and let me know what happened and how that situation is going to be fixed. It’s quite a mess. So at any rate I would like to know what’s happening with the situation and would appreciate a call back. Thank you.

Antenna TV: I’m calling in regards to the information I’m seeing on television as far as taking away our antenna television. My husband and I cannot afford to support all these other companies who just want my money. Anyway I think that we need to keep this avenue open so that people like my husband and I and other people who are on fixed incomes have the ability to watch television. To take it away to me is criminal. Thank you.

The commercials you are seeing from the NAB (National Association Of Broadcasters) is nothing but fearmongering tactics. They are trying to prevent the govt from allowing third parties to use the large amounts of what is called ‘white spaces’ that the digital TV transition created. See the wikipedia article at:

The idea the FCC has, is to use the unused radio frequencies to promote wireless broadband oppertunities.
If anything, it should be the people who are upset that the NAB and its members are trying to stifle high speed options.
