Mayor Hotline July 23 to 31

This is an edited version of the calls to the hotline, provided by the office Mayor Dave Bieter and may or may not reflect the tone and intent of callers.

7/26
Thomas Mort
ISSUE: Owns property at 1401 Euclid Ave. Filed claim for basement damage
from city sewer backup. City is suggesting it is not liable due to payment
window.
ACTION: Finance and Administration

7/26
Mike Reed
W. Ring Perch Drive
ISSUE: Car towed from Kathryn Albertson Park parking lot. He parks there
regularly and never before had a problem. Newly painted yellow curbs, but no
signs that parking policy had changed or that cars would be towed. $140 is not
a reasonable fine.
ACTION: Parks & Recreation

Sarah Cunningham
ISSUE: Central Bench Neighborhood Association president would like to speak to
the Mayor about formation of an urban renewal district.
ACTION: Mayor’s Office

7/24
Roberta Hall
ISSUE: Thrilled that Boise Convention and Visitors Bureau is going to be
disbanded. It is a waste of money, and only the wealthy benefit. Visitors know
all about us and can find hotels and restaurants on their own.
ACTION: Left no contact information

7/25
Nick
W. Audi
ISSUE: Concerned about the future of the Boise Convention and Visitors Bureau
and wonders why the Mayor has not taken a stand. Good people are losing their
jobs.

E. Shady Glen Drive
ISSUE: Lives above Barber Park. Illegal parking and littering in subdivision by
river floaters. Police not enforcing.
ACTION: BPD

7/27
Mark Richmond
Corbett
ISSUE: Concerned about possible loss of Boise Convention and Visitors Bureau.
He brought two major conventions to Boise in past nine months, which never
would have happened without CVB. Doing away with bureau would be
detrimental to the community. Appalled at Greater Boise Auditorium District
board’s behavior.

the community.

unreasonable.
