Mayor Hotline September 4 to 10

NOTE TO READERS–Since the city has diluted the hotline we are able to publish the entire content in these few lines. Should we toss in the towel and discontinue publication or offer the bare bones version Team Dave provides?

ISSUE: Inter-county bus service and the Boise City Bus Service. She catches the #42 bus in the early morning at Overland and Five Mile which will be eliminated. Since that option is going away, is there anyone working on getting public transportation out in that area?

  1. I think they are worthwhile. We find out what angers the the cityfolk on a daily basis. Also, we are able to find the pulse of the city on contentious issues (F35’s).

Discontinuing the publication is exactly what the city wants you to do. I suggest forging ahead the best you can.

Keep on keepin’ on- it’s important for all of us to know what’s being said, however abbreviated. And I agree with Chris- they WANT you to go away. Please, don’t. The everyday citizens need voices like yours to keep up informed!

  4. I think you should continue to publish this feature — I agree with Clancy. They’re worthwhile, we can know what hot-button issues are trending with residents, and folks (like me) who apparently live under a rock can learn interesting city-related information…like the fact ValleyRide is discontinuing service of a bus line I just started taking. :/ (Grr)

Keep on keepin’ on, my friend. However abbreviated, we at least get the gist of what other people are thinking, and the direction that the City’s taking with them. And I agree with Chris- they WANT you to go away. We definitely need that to NOT happen- ordinary citizens need a voice out there that is not controlled by their advertisers, nor political favors. Thank you for performing that service!

I agree, keep publishing the hotline.

  7. Please keep publishing them, a good read on whats a hot subject in the city. Thanks

  8. Keep publishing. Your site predated the current administration and hopefully will outlast it.

I can understand redacting names, phone numbers and addresses given by callers, but I can’t understand editorial control over an entire message.

  9. Yes, please keep publishing the hot line summary. Abbreviated, diluted and sanitized thought it may be, it’s still news and you are our one and only source to access it!

  10. stay the course, as diluted and censored as they are, they are the tip of the iceberg and need to be seen.

  11. I agree, Keep on publishing the mayor hotline. Good reading.
