Mayor Hotline January 15 to 21

ISSUE: Concerned about the roof at the Cole and Ustick Library. Every time it rains, the roof leaks, and it’s a brand new building.

William Martin
Metro Express Car Wash
Front St. (between 13th & 14th)
ISSUE: As cars enter the driveway to his business, vehicles are stopping for panhandlers and creating a traffic hazard.

Lorena Davis
W. Broad St.
ISSUE: There needs to be a crosswalk at Broad Street and Capitol Boulevard with flashing lights so pedestrians can cross into Bodo. It is a path she likes to take, and she knows that many pedestrians cross there during the day.
Action Taken: Emailed to ACHD

Julie Grant
N. Whistler Ln.
Boise, ID
ISSUE: She would like to see a crosswalk, a sky-bridge or something at the intersection of Broad Street and Capitol Boulevard.
Action Taken: Emailed to ACHD

Julie Rodgers
N. Whistler Ln.
ISSUE: Complaint about dog citations. Enforcement officers don’t even give out warnings, and she doesn’t think she should have received a citation.
Parking Services

Lorinda Moore
(Manhattan Area Code)
ISSUE: She is homeless; she contacted HRA and submitted her documents on January 7. She received her first bill, which is more than $2,500 and came with a disconnect notice as of the 20th.
Action Taken: Contacted

Dylan Stark
ISSUE: He has been calling the Mayor’s Office and the hotline for more than a year about Ombudsman Pierce Murphy. If anyone wants to deal with this issue in an appropriate manner before it goes to the media, please contact him.

Liz Gatchel
Moore St.
Boise, ID 83702
ISSUE: Works at the VA Hospital. Traffic signals around the Hays, 5th, 6th, and Fort streets area are not coordinated, and traffic becomes congested and dangerous at 5 p.m. and around 7:30 a.m. where VA employees enter and exit.
Action Taken: Forwarded by email to ACHD

Sharon Baugh
Wildrye Dr.
Boise, ID 83703
ISSUE: Instead of changing to the system that Canyon County has, she hopes that Boise stays with the emission testing system that the city has had since 1984. Otherwise too many people would be put out of work, and it would be an inconvenience for everyone.
Air Quality Board
Action Taken: Emailed Air Quality Board

Joseph Koncur
Salt Lake City, UT
ISSUE: He heard that China was going to build something near Boise. He is very excited because he loves China and he thinks they can do a good job.
