Mayor Called First Time In Six Years

Got a call from Boise”s Team Dave Monday.

When I heard the voice I thought, “Wow! They are finally talking to me again,” but it was just a robo call from the Mayor campaigning for a state legislator candidate. It seems we only communicate through legal briefs and public records requests.

We would love to hear from GUARDIAN readers about their experiences with robo calls, door-to-door campaigners, favorite political ads in print or on TV and radio and any great voting experiences.

    Which candidate?

  2. Interesting use of non partisan influence. I like JPD would like to know who.

EDITOR NOTE–In the interest of full disclosure it was Hy Kloc. He now owes a push of the DONATE button to the GUARDIAN.

I will be glad when it is over….but just think of those poor folks in the Battle Ground States, Whew

  4. I have used a cell phone exclusively for years as have lots of folks. I think robocalls are not only annoying, but miss a good share of the electorate. I had 2 candidates come to my door–Les Bock (as he has for years) and Hy Klok’s wife (he was on the other side of the street). Here in District 16 I have never seen a Repblican. Tons of slick oversized mail though. Of course the GC mayor and his developer buddies have been around telling people that the sky will fall if the bike ban is lifted. I think it’s working. The older folks in my neighborhood don’t want “taxes to go up by 40%.”

  5. We have a no soliciting message that answers when a stranger calls, the robocall talks right thru it so we only get the last little bit if any.

  6. Erico, I got a ton of slick mailers from the Dems and not so much from the GOP. Hy Klok had a particularly nasty one yesterday, Monday, about how Graham Paterson leave children to freeze in the snow. I’m surprised he didn’t go all out and say Paterson drinks their blood.

LaFaver had a nasty one today, Tuesday, in the mail accusing Simpson of hating children.

Apparently, the dems have hitched their wagons to children this year because as we all know they are the only ones who like children, assuming they get past Planned Parenthood’s clutches of course.

The Mayor, City Councilors, and Ada County Commissioners should be required to face the local media (such as they are) at least once a week and actually answer questions.
